Privacy notice
What we keep, and why.
We look after other people’s memories for a living. The details you send us are treated with the same care. This notice explains what we collect, what we do with it and what you can ask of us.
Who we are
Forget Me Not is the trading name of Unforgettable, based in Johannesburg, South Africa. We are the responsible party for the information described here. For anything about your information, write to hello@forgetmenot.joburg.
When you enquire
The enquiry form asks for your name, email address, phone number, the date and type of your event, your guest count, the times you would like and your venue, plus anything you choose to tell us. We use it to check our availability, to send you a quote and, if you book, to plan your event and stay in touch about it.
The form is delivered to us by Formspree, a form service whose servers are outside South Africa. It stores your enquiry so that it reaches us and is not lost. We do not sell your details, and we do not add you to a mailing list.
We keep enquiries and booking records for as long as we need them to deliver the event and meet our tax and accounting obligations, and then delete them.
What the website measures
Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits to our pages. It uses no cookies and does not identify you.
The Meta Pixel tells Meta (Facebook and Instagram) when someone visits our site and when an enquiry has been sent, so we can see whether our adverts are reaching the right people. It uses cookies, and Meta may connect the visit to a Facebook or Instagram account you are signed in to. We pass Meta the type of event you chose — never your name, email address or phone number.
You can block these cookies in your browser settings, use an ad blocker, or manage how Meta uses this information in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences. The site works the same either way.
At your event
Every photograph is printed there and then and goes home with your guests. We do not run a gallery, upload your guests’ photographs or hand out digital copies. Where we would like to use pictures from your event to show our work, we agree that with you in writing first.
Your rights
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) you may ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how we use it. Write to hello@forgetmenot.joburg and we will reply within 24 hours.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
